What do you do at Calvary?

My ministry as a deacon focuses on faith formation and Christian education, encompassing a broad range of activities. I teach youth in Sunday School, First Communion, and Confirmation, and have way too much fun writing our annual no-rehearsal Christmas pageant. I also lead Bibles & Brews, organize weekly devotions, assist in worship, occasionally preach, and serve on the RIC team and stewardship committee.  

I love what I do because…

I strongly believe that we are never finished learning or growing, in our faith or as individuals. Working with our youth, I see their curiosity for life, as they question and develop their own views. Our Bibles & Brews group really reflects continuous learning, bringing together all ages to discuss scripture, movies, and current events. In all aspects, I get to see our community grow and learn from each other.

When I’m not at Calvary…

Outside of Calvary, I'm most often at the accounting firm where I work. But, my more enjoyable activities include running with friends, traveling, curling up almost anywhere with a good book, or spending time with friends. I also serve at Pinecrest Lutheran Leadership Ministries, a faith leadership program for high school and college aged youth. The Pinecrest community is connected to all aspects of my life, being one of my biggest sources of joy and friendship!
