About the event

Summer Seafarer’s /God’s Work Our Hands Program 90% of everything we own comes to us on a boat. Yet the people that work on these boats—cargo ships—are an unseen population. Seafarers International House, a Lutheran ministry in New York, along with the chaplains and congregations that support them, ensure that these people are seen.

This September, Calvary will be assembling “Christmas-at-Sea” bags for those who work on cargo ships. We’ll meet one of the chaplains. We’ll hear their executive director preach. We’ll learn about this work and the impact we will have. We need your help!

Over the summer, we will be collecting: long socks, t-shirts (sizes M-L-XL), winter hats, and sweatshirts for us to pack into sea satchels this fall. September 18th we will pack these bags after worship, and listen for stories about Seafarers during worship this summer.
