What do you do at Calvary?

A pastor is called to a church for what is called, “Word and Sacrament ministry.” What that really means is that I get to tell people God loves them, and I use the Bible, Holy Baptism, and Holy Communion to do that! I also have responsibilities in the oversight of Calvary’s ministry, which means I get to work with a lot of really awesome people. But it all starts with what God is up to among us, pointing to that, and leading from that standpoint.

I love what I do because…

No two days are the same. Each and every day, God has some new joy in store, or some new challenge to meet, or someone new to get to know. No two days are the same, which keeps the work fresh and me on my toes, looking out for what God is up to on any given day.

When I’m not at Calvary…

When I’m not at Calvary, I’m probably spending time with Ana (my wife), Lillian (our daughter), and Phoebe (our 80-pound Shepherd mix). We love hiking in Blydenburgh Park, making music, eating at different restaurants, or being homebodies, hosting friends and family.
